All amateur performers and music lovers are welcome to come along to Lostwithiel Social Club for our regular acoustic music sessions. We are a friendly group, who enjoy playing and listening to a wide range of musical styles. Whilst we are open to all types of music, the sessions are not tailored towards traditional folk, as this is well catered for at many other local venues.
When - Sessions take place on the third Friday of every month at 7.30 pm.
Where - The Social Club is located in Fore Street, on the corner opposite the church. We meet in a private room, separate from the club's licensed bar, which offers drinks at competitive prices.
Performers - Depending on how many people turn up on the night, performers can normally expect to get the opportunity to perform a minimum of four numbers (assuming that you arrive around 7.30). These are not jam sessions, so please do not join in when others are performing, unless invited to do so. No backing tracks please, just live music!
Audience - Much like a folk club, our listeners are respectful and appreciative towards all performances. Please ensure that mobile phones are set to silent, and make your visits to the bar or toilet between songs.
Amplification - Although these sessions are described as acoustic, performers are welcome to bring along small amps to enhance their sound if they wish.
Cost - You are welcome to join us for a trial session for just £1 entrance fee, whereby you will be signed in as a guest for the one night. In order to attend further sessions, you will be required to join the social club. Membership costs just £5 for a year, or £2 for age 60 and over, plus £1 per session towards costs.
